Drawing on ancient spiritual traditions, we teach practices of meditation, loving kindness and self inquiry that enable us to experience our minds and bodies at peace.

We offer tools and practices which lead to a balanced, spiritually-centered life in order to increase our experience of health and contentment.

We maintain a classroom and sponsor teachings and practices that help the seeker find and nurture inner knowledge and awareness.

The only True teaching is universal in nature, that which is recognized as Truth by all religions and enlightened minds everywhere. We at Pathways to Self Healing teach the only Truth and practice that cannot be argued with–the Truth of personal experience. When we practice loving kindness, we discover the joy of opening our hearts to others. When we meditate deeply, we discover the peace that surpasses all understanding. When we learn to speak from our own hearts–rather than from our personal opinions – we learn that people understand and respond to us in ways that bring us together in universal harmony.

Paul Sibcy and Jim Charlton began teaching together in 1986, beginning with basic meditation training, which led to a teaching that encompasses all religious traditions and holistic practices. They noticed that a life out-of balance breeds ill health, and that ancient spiritual traditions stress a balanced, spiritually centered life, based on Self knowledge.

When we integrate spiritual practices into our busy lives, we discover a deep sense of Self that provides a foundation of strength and peace we had never before known. When we study the ancient teachings, we embody their wisdom into our lives in a way that opens our hearts to ourselves and others and the world around us. The wisdom, peace and love thus found gradually illuminates our lives so that they are transformed, and we find ourselves making choices that bring health and peace to ourselves, our community and the planet.

The teachings and practices at Pathways derive from the whole-being wisdom found at the heart of all spiritual paths. We teach a universal spirituality that includes the essence of holistic health. The poet Rumi pointed to this teaching when he said: “Submit yourself to a daily practice.” When we practice self disciplines that enable us to experience our minds and bodies at peace, we discover an awareness that we are wise, that we know what is really good for us, and we begin to live the life we need to be living in order to be happy, healthy and content.

The ancient traditions of Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Islam and Christianity all teach The Art of Living, a holistic set of guidelines and suggestions for living full and healthy lives. All are therefore Pathways to Self Healing: They maintain that human life devoid of Self-knowledge, love, balance and spiritual awareness is meaningless; and they point out that only by keeping faithful to our True Nature, aligned with Inner Spirit, the Self, can our lives have the cohesion and order that enable us to thrive in our daily lives.

Therefore, we at Pathways—in partnership with Integrated Healing Arts—maintain a classroom and sponsor teachings and practices that help the seeker find and nurture inner knowledge and awareness. From the Chinese tradition, we offer Qi Gong and Tai Chichuan, which build inner awareness and good health. From Hinduism, we offer Hatha Yoga practices for inner awareness and health; a Kriya Yoga class, which teaches practices and philosophies that bring us into a closer union with ourselves and our inner Divinity; Meditation classes, which teach us to discover and connect with our True Natures and discover inner peace; and a Sunday service called Sunday Mornings for Spiritual Health, a celebration of life and spirit that includes music, singing, meditation, and a message that includes voluntary group participation and sharing.
